Boy, seven, who drowned in the sea with two siblings

A glorious summer’s evening at a Texas beach took a horrifying turn on Thursday night when a family-of-six were swept into a riptide current, causing three children to drown and leaving the life of a forth to be marginally saved by the actions of a heroic bystander.

Veronika Alvarez, 23, was sitting on a bench looking out at the Ocean on Sylvan Beach on August 8, observing a family-of-six were enjoying splashing around in the water.

A woman, man and four children, who ranged in age from seven to 13, were swimming when they began ‘having trouble in the water’, a Chambers County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.
