Increasing parent and church engagement by 100 percent

My fellow ministers of the gospel, workers for the Lord, parents, families and the community of the children who attend the five low performing school, thank you for your attendance and participation in the listening forum.

It was truly an event for the south St. Petersburg community, in the last 35 years or more, in which parents, families, churches and the community came together in partnership. This partnership aims to improve the five lowest performing elementary schools in our community.

Your attendance and participation will prove invaluable as we, the Parent Support For Education Council, Inc., (PSFEC) Ministry, families, parents, churches and communities of the elementary schools: Campbell Park, Fairmount Park, Maximo, Melrose and Lakewood work to increase engagement by 100 percent, focusing on improving in the areas of academics, discipline, attendance and family/school relationships.

A special commendation is extended to Superintendent of Pinellas County School Dr. Michael Grego for his vision and leadership, and to school board members Rene Flowers and Terry Krassner who gave their full support to this initiative. Dr. Valerie Brimm facilitated the Listening Forum by bringing the forum to fruition.

My fellow workers in the Lord, the Lord brought us together and now we must remain steadfast and vigilant by personal participation in encouraging parents and families to increase family engagement that will result in our children’s success. Parents and families, it is   imperative that we all reach out to our respective schools to earnestly increase school and families relationships. Relationships will not grow with out a strong conscientious effort by all of us working together.

“We can do it better together!”

By the week of December 8-12, you will receive via email information regarding the follow up process to the listening forum/building capacity forum.

The PSFEC Ministry is requesting that you remind your respective congregations and communities of their God ordained responsibility to be steadfast and diligent in this Godly effort.  (Deut. 6:7)
