Omega annual fishing trip for scholarships

BY TOM PACKER, Guest Writer

ST. PETERSBURG – Omega Psi Phi Fraternity-Eta Rho Chapter sailed out of Clearwater Harbor last Sat., May 17 on its annual fishing trip to benefit high school scholars preparing to enter college.

On this bright sunny day the boat was filled with chapter members, youth from the fraternity’s Pathfinder’s organization and citizens from around the Tampa Bay area. The theme for the day was “support deserving students in need of a hand-up.”

Eta Rho each year makes student achievement a major goal of the chapter. Omega men know that their involvement with youth during the formative years can result in positive productive adults.

Fun was had by all and everyone caught fish. Prizes were awarded for the biggest fish and the most fish caught. This year the prize for biggest fish went to Charles Thomas and for the most fish caught the prize went to Debra Reeves.

The men of Omega wishes to thank each person that participated in this year’s successful event.
