“Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people.” (Haggai 2:2)

In this passage of scripture, Haggai has been given a word from the Lord to speak to Zerubabel. Zerubbabel was the governor of Judah 60 years after the great temple built by Solomon had been destroyed. The temple lay in ruins, and the Lord spoke to the prophet Haggai, “Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?” (Hag. 1:4) God was calling for a remnant of His people to come out of their comfort zones and restore the glory of God’s house.

My dear sister’s and brother’s this cry from the Lord is among us NOW. We are approaching a critical time in history where people are impoverished, mental health disease is increasing, mothers and fathers are killing, instead of training up their children and jail cells are being enlarged. Haggai 1:6,7 states, “Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earns wages, earneth wages only to put it into a bag with holes. Therefore, saith the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways.”

My brothers and sisters let’s take a moment and consider, how we are spending our time. In the days of Noah, there was much wine and strong drink. Genesis 6:11 says “and the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.  What can we do?

Together we can pray and bring about effectual change in our community. It is not enough to be a participant of church. We must be the CHURCH that Christ is returning for, that Bride without spot or wrinkle. When we set our HEART in order and walk in obedience, this is what the Lord says:

“According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remains among you: fear ye not. says the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Haggai 2:6-9)

I don’t know about you, but I want the peace of God in all that I do. Aren’t we tired of having holes in our pocket? Aren’t we tired of being hungry? Aren’t we tired of not having enough? If so, let’s pray together. 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The bible also declares, “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.”

Peace and Blessings
