Police find father passed out with foot on brake paddle, quarter ounce bag of marijuana beside him

Omari Peterson, 35, of Manchester, New Hampshire, had his foot on the brake pedal while the vehicle was still in drive on Sunday night but he was passed out. They said he declined to leave the vehicle so they grabbed him.

The child was picked up by a family friend, police said.

Police say they also found a quarter-ounce of marijuana in the vehicle.

Peterson was charged with resisting arrest/detention, possession of a controlled drug, endangering the welfare of a child and violation of bail conditions.

In court on Monday morning, Peterson begged for a reduced bail, citing having to care for his five children.

But the judge stated that the father was already on bail awaiting trial for domestic violence-related charges.

Bail was set at $10,000 cash only.

Peterson is slated to be back in court on Tuesday on a motion to revoke his bail in the domestic violence case.
