ST. PETERSBURG — The Sistahs of Compassion Supporting Cancer Survivors, Inc. held their fourth annual dinner cruise fundraiser last month on board the StarLite Sapphire Dining Yacht.

During pre-boarding, cancer survivors greeted and hugged each other. The solidarity transcended age, race and gender. The annual dinner cruise helps to financially promote the goals of the Sistahs of Compassion who is dedicated to providing free emotional, spiritual and moral support to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones.

Over a hundred supporters came out to help support cause. An elegant four-course dinner service with an individual choice of 10 entrees added a touch of class to the occasion.

Nearly 20 prizes were given away, including three door prizes and three grand prizes. Sylvia Bennett won four-hour limo service in a 1955 Bentley donated by Danny Green, owner of Danny Antique Cars.

John Mitchell won a $100 Gift certificate to Souzou Asian Fusion upscale restaurant donated by Joe Ruberto, general manager and prostate cancer survivor. Tara Hemingway and Sumi Fink both won deep sea half day fishing trips donated by Miss Pass-A-Grille, St Pete Beach.

Immediately after dinner, survivors, supporters and family members wobbled and cupid-shuffled theirs cares and worries away as DJ Bake rocked them the rest of the evening.
