Teen pleads guilty to fatally shooting a Philadelphia father in the face

A teenager has been sentenced to 35 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to murdering a Philadelphia father in front of his two-year-old daughter during an attempted carjacking.

Marvin Roberts, 18, pleaded guilty to first degree murder, robbery and other charges on Friday over the 2017 shooting death of 38-year-old Gerard Grandzol.

Roberts was given the mandatory minimum sentence following a plea deal with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
