The Palm Beach Post reported that Crisanto was friends with the woman’s boyfriend and had come over to their apartment to say goodbye because he was moving to New York.

During the evening the boyfriend was playing on a computer game in the lounge when he heard screams from the bedroom and heard his girlfriend say: ‘Take the money.’

He told police he saw Crisanto holding a gun and managed to disarm him.

Police raced to the scene of the stabbing (pictured) after receiving a 911 call and arrested Crisanto at a nearby McDonald's

The woman told police Crisanto, who she knew as ‘Phil’, had stabbed her, telling her:  ‘I have to make a sacrifice.’

A man who was out walking his dog saw the commotion and told police he saw Crisanto standing behind the victim with one hand around her waist and the other holding a knife against her throat.

Crisanto was arrested at a nearby McDonald’s restaurant. It is not clear if he had taken drugs or suffers from mental health issues.

The victim was reported as ‘stable’ in Delray Medical Center.

Police said the money which had been taken from a nightstand drawer had not been found.
