The 35th anniversary MLK Lifetime Achievement & Legends Awards Banquet honorees

ST. PETERSBURG — The nationally renowned Full Gospel’s Apostle Carlos Malone of the Bethel Church of Miami will open up MLK Week as the keynote speaker for the MLK Holiday & Legacy Association, Inc. and the National Christian League of Councils’ 35th Anniversary Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major for Justice Lifetime Achievement & Legends Awards Banquet.   

The banquet is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Marriott St. Petersburg, 12600 Roosevelt Blvd., St. Petersburg. The VIP reception starts at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s 2020 honorees include Tampa civil rights activist Otis Ronnie Anthony, Jr., Minson Rubin, founder of the Gibbs Gladiators Hall of Fame and the Gibbs High School Alumni Association, Rufus Lewis, co-founder Gibbs Gladiators Hall of Fame and the Gibbs High School Alumni Association and Professor Paul Adams, retired associate director of bands at Norfolk State University.

These 2020 honorees have walked in the footsteps of Dr. King for decades. They are to be held in the highest esteem for keeping Dr. King’s dream alive and his legacy of advancing the civil rights for the African-American community.
