Who’s your daddy?

BY SARAH EDWARDS

The media is putting so much emphasis on children being raised without a healthy father image today, especially, within the African-American culture. That our black sons are the lost boys in America. And our black girls are demented, insecure and sex craved. This is simply not true.

Nevertheless, too many have bought into that mindset. Programs, grants and super-progressive people have decided that they will become their savior and heal them. When they themselves need to be healed. This perception is also embraced within the church.

Parents, hear me clearly. Examine yourself and understand which path you are on. Hopefully, you have decided to live your life in the free path of righteousness and accepting Jesus as your personal savior and Lord; the one your ancestors took and walk therein.

Trust in God’s holy Word and lean on His everlasting arm to bear you up when you feel weary. Then boldly teach your child who’s your daddy, and that your Father is also their Father regardless of who their daddy [sperm donor] is.

God, being your Father, has created you in His image and likeness. He used the seed of a male man [your daddy] to transport you into the earthly realm [your mother’s womb] as either a male man or a female man.

Teach them the truth that our Father loved all of us so much he prepared a Pastoral Lamb to be sacrifice for the total payment for yours and their sin. That was His son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and those who have yet to believe and accept Jesus as the Savior, their God.

For all of you who are baptized into Christ, you have been clothed with Christ Jesus. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in the spiritual body of Christ Jesus, which is the voice and consciousness of God in the earth. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendant, an heir according to the promise God made to him [Galatians 3].

A few of God’s promises to you as the seed of Abraham are: the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth:

All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you.

They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

The Lord will send a blessing on everything you put your hand to.

The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, if walk in obedience to him.

Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.

The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity.

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.

You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

The Lord will make you the head, not the tail.

If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Do not turn aside to follow other gods and serving them [Deuteronomy 28].

Now, that’s just like our big daddy! Our Father!
