37-year-old father robbed then shot dead in Brooklyn after open fire at after-hours night club

37-Year-Old Father, btbA 37-year-old father described as a ‘teddy bear’ was shot dead in Brooklyn on Saturday a half hour after being mugged by the man who killed him, officials and family members said.

Dustin Jackson, a subway platform cleaner, was leaving an after-hours Jamaican club in East New York at about 2am when he and friends were robbed of jewelry, cash and cellphones by a gunman, family members were told.

The gunman returned half an hour later and opened fire into the crowd at the club, when a bullet pierced Jackson’s arm and lodged into his chest, family members said.

Jackson, who was out celebrating his first Friday off of work in more than a year, later died at Brookdale University Hospital, according to the New York Daily News.

Police did not immediately confirm that Jackson was robbed and have not yet revealed a motive behind the killing.

Jackson’s uncle, Julius Carter, 65, called the shooting, which occurred close to the victim’s home, ‘senseless’.

‘You already robbed these kids, why would you come back and shoot him?’ he told the Daily News.

Jackson’s brother, Dexter Warton, 50, said that his brother was a ‘good kid’.

‘He didn’t get into trouble. Sometimes trouble finds you,’ he said.

Six people were shot in New York City in the span of five hours early Saturday morning, the Daily News reported. Jackson and two others were killed.

Between Monday and midnight on Friday, 25 people were shot in New York, which is equal to the number of people shot during the same week in 2014.
