Bulls star Derrick Rose claims ex-girlfriend accuses him of drugging, gang rape because of sex toy
Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose has claimed that the woman who accuses him of drugging and gang raping her consented to group sex and is only upset because she wants money back for a sex toy.
The woman, named only as Jane Doe, is suing Rose, claiming he and two other men spiked her drink at the NBA player’s home in Beverly Hills before raping her at her apartment.
Her lawsuit claims the pair broke up in July 2013 because ‘she would not have sex with his friend or other couples’.
About a month later she was invited to the basketball player’s home, where the suit alleges the three defendants – Rose, 26, his manager Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen – drugged her drink.
She claims a friend helped her get home but the three men entered her apartment the next morning and raped her. Rose firmly denies the allegations.
The woman says she did not take a pregnancy test or use a rape kit because she was ‘ashamed and embarrassed’.
‘She kept thinking that this was “not supposed to happen”,’ legal documents claim.
Rose’s attorney Mark D. Baute, filing on behalf of the point guard, said the 2011 MVP denies the allegations and says the woman ‘consented to the actions she now claims were non-consensual’.
He wrote: ‘The Plaintiff consented to sexual interaction with more than one co-defendant on more than one occasion, consented to sexual interactions on the day in question, and invited the defendants to her apartment and buzzed them in through security and opened the apartment door to welcome them, and then consented to additional group activities later that evening.’
The court document also claims the woman ‘became upset a few weeks or months later because she felt she should be reimbursed for one of the sex toys she purchased and used during the day and night in question’.
It is not known what kind of sex toys were being used.
According to the filing, she was further upset by Rose not responding to her text messages.
The NBA star’s fortunes went went from bad to worse last night as it emerged he broke his cheek bone on the first day of practice after being accidentally elbowed by a Bulls team mate.
Rose will undergo surgery to repair the left orbital fracture today and it is not clear whether he will be back from injury in time for their first game.
‘Derrick took an elbow to the face,’ coach Fred Hoiberg said. ‘He took a good, hard elbow.’
Rose missed the entire 2012-2013 season after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament, then tore the medial meniscus in his right knee in November 2013 and missed the rest of that campaign.
He also missed an extended period of last season due to another knee injury.
Rose helped the Bulls win 50 games last season and make it to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
