Dashcam arrest of Cleveland Browns players’ drunk driving stop, found with concealed gun

Dashcam footage has been released of Cleveland Browns linebacker Armonty Bryant and safety De’Ante Saunders as they were arrested on Christmas morning following a traffic stop.

Saunders was cited for driving under the influence after a traffic stop in suburban Brook Park at 2:16 a.m. on December 25 as he was driving at 75 mph in a 60 mph zone.

Saunders, 23, refused a breath test meaning he automatically lost his license for a year. In addition, a gun was confiscated from Saunders’ car.

An attorney for Saunders submitted a not guilty plea in court on December 28 to the charge of driving under the influence.

Bryant, 25, was arrested at the scene for having the medication Adderall without a prescription.

He was released after being taken to the patrol’s Brook Park post, and the information was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

Bryant, who has a history of legal troubles, did not travel with the team after the incident so he could tend to the legal matter.

Browns general manager Ray Farmer was critical of the players’ behavior, at the time, saying in a statement; ‘These are charges that we take very seriously.

‘The importance of responsible decision-making is something we continually stress to all members of our organization, which makes it extremely disappointing that these two individuals would put themselves in this situation by making such poor decisions.’

Farmer was released from his job as general manager of the team on January 3 after the fianl game of the season.

Browns coach Mike Pettine had given his players the holiday off so they could be with their families at the time of the incident.

Pettine was also let go alongside Farmer on January 3, the final game of the Browns season.

Bryant is second on the team with 5 1/2 sacks this season, his third with the Browns. He was drafted in 2013 from East Central Oklahoma, where he had some off-field problems.

He was arrested for driving under the influence less than a week after Cleveland drafted him. He was also suspended for three games in college for selling marijuana to an undercover officer.

Saunders has been on Cleveland’s practice squad.
