The November portion of the college basketball season is dissipating quickly, and we are not that far removed from picking at its bones on the way to the oddity of December: finals week, the odd conference game, the Christmas holidays and not much more to anticipate than the ACC/Big East Challenge.
This November will not leave us, though, without much to contemplate.
Even before we have a champion in the Maui Invitational, or the NIT Season Tip-Off, or the various ESPN events that will transpire over Thanksgiving weekend, we do have plenty of surprises to consider from the first three weeks of play.
Sometimes, those pleasant surprises (Indiana holds Creighton to 66 points) turn into unpleasant ones (IU allows Wake Forest 19 decisive points down the stretch). And sometimes the unpleasant ones (Virginia struggles at George Washington) are reversed (UVa recovers to win the Charleston Classic).
But right now, these next seven are sticking with us.
