NFL star Ray McDonald’s ex claims football player choked and kicked her in the stomach while pregnant

The ex of disgraced football player Ray McDonald claims that she was repeatedly attacked by the sports star over the course of their relationship.

The 27-year-old woman claims that it began with ‘verbal abuse and controlling behavior’ before becoming ‘pushing and shoving and then ‘full attacks that happened frequently.’

Then, last August, she claims McDonald ‘choked me, dragged and tried to remove me from the house and put his knee in my stomach when I was 10 weeks pregnant.’

‘I was ashamed to tell friends and family,’ his ex says in her filing for a temporary restraining order, obtained by the San Jose Mercury News.

‘I hoped he would change. He changed some, but he began drinking again so I moved out.’

She also claims that their newborn son was threatened after McDonald attacked her while she was holding him on May 25.

Steve DeFilippis, McDonald’s attorney, previously denied these claims.

California Highway Patrol last week released audio from the 911 call that led to the arrest of the defensive end on suspicion of child endangerment and domestic violence following the incident.

The mother of McDonald’s ex says the NFL player was ‘drunk’ when she called authorities before dawn Monday.

‘I’m freaking out, it’s my daughter,’ the caller says on the tape.

McDonald was later arrested at a San Jose home on suspicion of assaulting his ex while she was holding the couple’s baby.

The caller says she wasn’t at the home but that her daughter had told her to call police.

‘She just called me and asked me to please call 911 because she’s trying to escape with the infant,’ the mother says on the 911 call.

Just hours later, the Chicago Bears released McDonald.

McDonald signed with the Bears after the San Francisco 49ers released him last year in the wake of a sexual assault accusation.

The 30-year-old University of Florida grad  ‘physically assaulted the victim while she was holding a baby’, according to police in Santa Clara, California.

Authorities are still determining whether or not they will pursue charges in that case.
