NFL veterans in danger of being cut in 2016

Here are some veteran players who need a great finish to avoid the chopping block in March.

1. Peyton Manning, QB, Broncos

Cap savings: $19 million

There were questions about Manning going into the season, and he was having the worst year of his career before an injury moved him to the bench. The Broncos will give Manning every chance to retire, but if he wants to keep playing football (and the rumor is he does), it will need to be somewhere else.

Expect Manning’s agent to gage the QB market before making a decision on his future. Cutting Manning would give Denver $19 million in cap room that can be used to help sign key free agents, including Von Miller and Brock Osweiler.
