Pregnant 16-year-old girl shot dead in robbery while sitting in car eating pizza with boyfriend

A pregnant 16-year-old schoolgirl has died from a gunshot wound during a robbery in early Friday morning in Birmingham, Alabama.

Raven White was eating a pizza in a car with her boyfriend when they were approached by a man who demanded money. The man shot Ms White and fled from the scene, leaving the 16-year-old girl and her unborn baby to die.

The suspect has been described as a black male, who was wearing a distinctive blue bandanna.

Raven White was a 11th grade student at Clay-Chalkville High School and was described as a popular and outstanding student by her fellow pupils.

Birmingham police lieutenant Sean Edwards said the suspect was a ‘cold blooded killer’ and confirmed the suspect had fled the scene and driven off in a dark coloured car.

Raven’s boyfriend tried to save her by driving to the St. Vincent’s East hospital but the 16-year-old and her baby could not be saved.

‘Raven was the kind of kid that’s the reason that I do what I do,’ Clay-Chalkville principal Michael Lee said.

‘Just a sweet, kind, loving, young lady. She was such a good girl, the kind of kid every parent wants have,’

‘She worked hard in the classroom. She never said anything bad about anyone,’

‘She loved everybody and this is just a big loss. A loss we’re going to feel for a long time,’ Mr Lee told the Trussville Tribune.

‘This case is our highest priority and we need the community’s help in putting this cold-blooded killer behind bars’, says Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper.
