Woman arrested after decomposed body of lover found on porch

A woman in Florida has been charged with murder after police found the decomposing body of her lover on her porch.

Tammy Shereese Wright-Conner, from Jacksonville, Florida, is believed to have shot Ronald Trotter, 48, in May before asking a friend to help her move the body.

Instead, the 41-year-old allegedly sealed the body into her porch using plastic around the windows and sheets taped to the walls.

The body was discovered after around a week-and-a-half of being in the sealed room in temperatures of around 95F (35C), and was so decomposed it was not initially clear whether it was a man or a woman.

Air fresheners filled the room in an attempt to mask the smell.

The body was found by animal control officers, who had been called by neighbors – as they thought there was a dead animal on the property.

Trotter, who died from a gunshot wound to the chest, is believed to have gone to Wright-Conner’s house after having a row with his wife during a family outing on May 25.

His wife reported him missing on May 30, according to Jacksonville.com, and told police that she believed he had gone to his girlfriend’s house.

Police Lt. Steve Gallaher, of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, said that at least one of Wright-Conner’s friends reported that she had asked for help to move the body.

It was discovered on June 10.

Wright-Conner was arrested June 1 on drug charges and released after two days, according to Jacksonville.com.

She was arrested again June 11 on prowling and possession of drug paraphernalia charges, then again July 14 when she was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in an unrelated case.

In the first June arrest, she was questioned about Trotter and said she hadn’t seen him in two weeks, Gallaher said.

She was charged based on the statements of witnesses, cellphone tracking that showed she was near the house in early June and other forensic evidence, Gallaher added.
