Aug 16: Partners in Freedom Fund Grant Reopens for Second Consecutive Year
The ACLU of Florida opens grant application enrollment for Black and Brown-led movements in their fight for systemic change and police reform
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 13, 2021
CONTACT: ACLU Florida Media Office, media@aclufl.org
WHAT: The ACLU of Florida will be accepting applications for their annual Partners in Freedom Fund Grant starting Monday, August 16. This grant opportunity awards up to $4,000 to local Black and Brown-led organizations working to end racial injustice and re-imagining the role of police.
This is the ACLU of Florida’s second year hosting the Partners in Freedom Fund grant opportunity. Previous grant recipients demonstrated strategic plans and unique approaches to their local police structure by pursuing specific project goals that build a more equitable society, by dismantling anti-Blackness and unjust policing practices in its institutions.
Frontline local advocacy groups leading on racial justice policing issues in Florida — especially those led by People of Color — are vital to this work. The ACLU of Florida is dedicated to eradicating white supremacy and racism in all of its forms, especially in local policing.
