Waddle Your Way to The Florida Aquarium to Help the Penguins
On Saturday, October 14, join The Florida Aquarium’s celebration of African Penguin Awareness Day at the 2023 Penguin Waddle. Beginning at the iconic Tampa sign at Sparkman Wharf, this 0.2-mile walk down Channelside Drive will end with a block party at The Florida Aquarium. Due to popular demand, the first 5:15 p.m. walk start time is already full. Don’t delay, register now for a second walk start time that has been added at 6:15 p.m. All participants will receive a complimentary commemorative t-shirt at the event.
The post-walk celebration will continue until 7:30 p.m. and will feature family fun, entertainment, and the chance to meet the guests of honor – some of The Aquarium’s African penguin ambassadors. There will be prizes for the best penguin costume and the best penguin costume made of recycled or repurposed material.
The penguin population is disappearing, and we need your help! The Florida Aquarium is partnering with Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation, Georgia Aquarium and Zoos Victoria to support the Not on Our Watch Campaign to help raise awareness of the importance of African penguins and their survival.
