ST. PETERSBURG – The City of St. Petersburg’s 20th Annual Family Fun Day Festival will be held Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the James B. Sanderlin Family Service Center, 2335 22nd Ave. S.
The public is invited to enjoy entertainment, giveaways, medical screenings, agency presentations, inflatable games, music, food and ice cream. Some of the featured performers are: Soloist Deneen Wyman, the Original Gents, saxophonist Jordan Bolds, Arts Conservatory for Teens performers, the Prima Donnas and Helaine Neal and Kelvin Jackson Duo.
Services include free health screening for blood pressure checks, diabetes, and cholesterol. The free festival provides an avenue to educate residents about the valuable resources available to them through the city, social services, health care, and the faith-based community. It is an ideal event to market services that are needed and available in the community.
This event brings together community residents, friends and family, police, social service agencies and organizations, health care providers, churches, neighborhood associations and city officials for a day of positive interaction, sharing and uniting in a drug- and crime-free venue.
Family Fun Day 2016 is co-sponsored by the St. Petersburg Police Department, the James B. Sanderlin Neighborhood Family Center, City of St. Petersburg Community Services Department, GTE Financial, Working Cow, Healthy Start at John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and the Tampa Bay RAYS.
