The Safety Harbor Public Library presents Defying Autism with Music with piano virtuoso Milosz Gasior on Thursday, June 20, 6:30 pm at Harborside Christian Church, 2200 Marshall St, Safety Harbor. The concert is free and open to the public.
Milosz Gasior made history as the first Piano Major with autism to graduate from the Pinellas County Center for the Arts. Milosz was diagnosed with autism at a very young age after his mother, Bozena Gasior, noticed that his verbal skills were lacking. At age 7, when Milosz’s brother started piano lessons, Bozena decided to teach Milosz the piano. It opened a channel of communication for Milosz, and after years of practice, he excels, bringing music to our community and breaking all stereotypes.
Bozena has written a book titled I Heard the Light: A Mother’s Story of Her Son’s Journey Through Autism to Self-Expression, to bring hope to anyone caring for a loved one with autism. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
