Take a musical journey back through time to the proper roots of American popular music with troubadour Karlus Trapp at the Safety Harbor Public Library on Thursday, June 8 at 6:30 pm. Trapp weaves together prolific and influential African American musicians, from the slavery era to modern contemporary time, with an educational, cultural, and historical musical performance.

Karlus Trapp is a teaching artist, performer, and music historian who began his musical career at 11 years old, learning the guitar by listening to the music of the Beatles and Motown, and turning pro in his twenties under the tutelage of guitar master Peter Prisco. Since then, he’s played all over the US and Caribbean with his band KT MaGumbo, sharing the stage with Bon Jovi, Modern English, Jimmy Buffet, Keith Urban, The Paul Shaeffer Group, and more.

The library is located at 101 2nd Street North, Safety Harbor. Call 724-1525 x 4112 for more information and visit www.SafetyHarborLibrary.com for a complete listing of library programs.
