Advisory Commission on Aging – three vacancies
The 15 members of the Advisory Commission on Aging support, leverage and advocate for programs and resources that protect and ensure quality of life for St. Pete’s aging community. The Commission’s vision is a community where seniors can receive the services and resources needed to live a safe, independent, and dignified life. More information at www.stpete.org/ACA
Code Enforcement Board – two vacancies
The Code Enforcement Board conducts hearings related to the enforcement of any codes or ordinances of the City. Each month, the Board hears cases on the agenda. At the conclusion of each case hearing, the Board issues findings of fact and conclusions of law. More information at www.stpete.org/CEB
Committee to Advocate for Persons with Impairment – one vacancy
The Committee to Advocate for Persons with Impairments (CAPI) is a group of residents appointed by the Mayor with advice and consent of City Council. The function of CAPI is to advise City Council on issues and to advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities. CAPI provides the City with guidance relative to the concerns, rights, special needs and dignity of persons with disabilities to ensure their full participation in and enjoyment of the City’s facilities, programs, and services. Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee – two vacancies
The Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee is a Committee of City Council Members and private citizens that reviews applications submitted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and makes recommendations to full City Council for approval of funding. Funding provided to agencies assists with the operations of public services, homelessness assistance, rental assistance, affordable housing, and capital improvements. Development Review Commission – one vacancy
The Development Review Commission (DRC) evaluates and acts on the development proposals within the city in order to ensure compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, zoning ordinance, and other appropriate City regulations. The DRC acts as the Land Development Regulation Commission to review and evaluate proposed modifications. More information at www.stpete.org/DRC
Nuisance Abatement Board – one vacancy
The Nuisance Abatement Board hears and decides cases involving properties in the city allegedly being used for illegal activity. This Board plays an important role in reducing crime and improving the safety and welfare of St. Pete citizens and visitors by encouraging property owners to take responsibility to prevent their properties from becoming the site of ongoing nuisance activities.
