Scripture – “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst (John 6:35).”
Denial – I do not hunger for things that can’t sustain me.
Affirmation – I AM that bread of life.
I can apply the I AM principle to every statement that Jesus made using the words, I AM. Everything that Jesus said about himself, I can say about myself. Everything that Jesus did, I can do and even greater works (John 14:12). In fact, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
When apply the I AM principle to Jesus’ statement, “I AM the bread of life” I accept my role and responsibility as the bread of life in the earth today. When I take the bread during Holy Communion, I AM appropriately the substance of Christ in my consciousness (John 6:51). While eating the bread, I AM reminding myself that I AM the same substance as Jesus, the Christ; therefore, everything that he was I AM. I can provide the same sustenance that Jesus, the Christ provided when he fed the multitudes naturally with two fish and five loaves of bread and spiritually with his preaching and teaching (John 6:33). People are hungry for the living bread and they can feed off of my testimony.
When I take the Holy Eucharist with this understanding, it gives it a whole new meaning. Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM for Spiritual Communion. It will be a new and different experience.
