National Urban League Young Professionals are coming to town
ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas County Urban League Young Professionals are ready for a weekend like none other in Tampa Bay. The organization prepares to host this year’s 2nd Annual Florida Young Professionals Retreat Weekend June 20-22.
Three days of networking, leisure, nightlife and personal enrichment activities are planned to bring together National Urban League Young Professionals members from Florida’s five chapters.
“This unique opportunity of hosting a Young Professionals (YP) weekend gives us a chance to expose our membership at the local level on what the YP movement is about nationally,” said President Jessica Clark. Participation is not limited to members. “Anyone who’s interested in learning more about who we are and what we do is invited to participate in the weekend’s activities.”
The weekend event was inspired by past Southern Regional Vice President, Karen Anderson, who challenged each state to bring together all of the chapters for bonding and sharing best practices. With over 60 Urban League YP chapters across the country, it’s difficult to meet everyone from a particular state at national conferences.
There are a total of five YP chapters across the state of Florida: Broward, Central Florida, Jacksonville, Palm Beach and Pinellas. Last year’s initial weekend was hosted by Palm Beach Urban League Young Professionals.
