Omegas at the Relay For Life event

ST. PETERSBURG – Eta Rho Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and an estimated several hundred people gathered at Lakewood High School last month to participate in one of the largest American Cancer Society’s fundraising events in south St. Petersburg, the Relay For Life.

Eta Rho Chapter’s Social Action Committee Chairman, Brother Javan Turner and his committee was able to improve their set goal by 150 percent.  The event was personal for several chapter brothers with the success and healing they experienced in their recovery from cancer.

Their participation in the first lap of the event was most uplifting and a testimony to the human spirit.  Donation raised from the event will go towards research as well as for effort to support survivors and patients in Pinellas County.

Eta Rho Chapter continues to work in partnership with many organizations in the south St. Petersburg area, serving both adults and children.
