Dr. Freddie McRae receives the 2015 A.J. Gorday Award!

ST. PETERSBURG — Freddie L. McRae, M.D. was honored recently by his peers as the recipient of the 2015 AJ Gorday Award at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

The Gorday Award was established in 1978 at Bayfront to recognize the long and distinguished service and career of Dr. AJ “Abe” Gorday. He exemplified a special kind of spirit of dedication for this community and the hospital.

Each year a member of the medical staff is chosen by his peers who personify the following criteria:

• Dedication and service to Bayfront; its mission, vision and values; patients; and Medical Staff

• Uncompromising devotion to the healthcare needs of our community

• Contributions to the advancement of the Medical Staff, including leadership

Adherence to the highest ideals and standards of medical practice with conscientious service to mankind, community, patients and Bayfront Health St. Petersburg

Dr. McRae was surrounded by family and friends when receiving this award during the med staff meeting Thurs., Nov. 5 at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
