ST. PETERSBURG –Black and Hispanic students step up academically to represent 25 percent of Gibbs’ new inductees into the prestigious National Honor Society.
In all, 64 of Gibbs’ brightest and best graced the stage last month to receive their medallions and certificates for outstanding academic performance. Parents teared up, cheered and snap pictures to forever capture the unforgettable moment.
Dr. Cody Clark stated that up to 16 students chosen were African American.
“I could not believe that three African-American students turned down the invite to become a part of the National Honor Society,” Clark stated.
