ST. PETERSBURG — According to the Florida Bar’s website, there are 98,595 lawyers who are licensed to practice law in the State of Florida. That’s a lot of competition among attorneys.
Attorney Ron Nelson is a local success story. He was born and raised in St. Petersburg and graduated from Boca Ciega High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University located in Bloomington, Ind. After his undergraduate studies, he enrolled in Thurgood Marshall School of Law, located at Texas Southern University in Houston where he received his law degree.
Upon completing law school in 1994, Nelson returned to his native St. Petersburg and founded the Law Offices of Ronald L. Nelson, P.A. For nearly 20 years, he has been representing individuals and families who have been charged criminally.
Criminal defense, employment and personal injury law are his specialties.
Nelson is a self-employed attorney who appreciates the support of the community. In April he was featured on “Matter’s of the Heart Radio Ministry,” hosted by Princess Denise Wright and Bishop Judy Rivers on WRXB. On that show, he gave free information to the public regarding criminal expungement and the sealing of criminal records. He attributes his longevity of being in business to his belief in God, his appreciation for education and to the supportive African-American community.
As a gesture of Nelson’s appreciation for the community, he will offer free legal advice this Sat., May 24 at 1 p.m. to “Matters of the Heart” listeners on WRXB. The topics he will cover will be probate, wills and guardianship. You may call in (on that day) to ask questions.
