Oratorical contest on safety

BY DEXTER MCCREE, Feature Writer

Many activities canvassed the City of St. Petersburg on Dr. Martin Luther King Day. Standing at the podium at Bethel Metropolitan Church were middle and high school students speaking their views on “What safety means to me and my family” in an oratorical contest sponsored by Friends of the James Weldon Johnson Library as one of the many service projects funded by a grant throughout the city. Pictured are a few participants in the event.
