PINELLAS COUNTY — When you become a teacher, you are given the opportunity to make a positive impact on your community while building a rewarding career for yourself.
The American Board is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to recruiting, preparing, certifying and supporting new teachers, and they offer an alternate teaching certification that is both cheaper and more time-effective than going back to school for a master’s degree.
If you have a bachelor’s degree, then you are pre-qualified to start the program, and could be running your own classroom within a year. An information session coming up next Thurs., Aug. 13 will be held at the St. Petersburg Public Library North Branch, 861 70th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, from 5-6 p.m.
