ST. PETERSBURG — More than 120 members from over a dozen churches across St. Petersburg gathered at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for the recent Kingdom Living Conference, hosted by the Baptist Ministers Conference of St. Petersburg, FL, and Vicinity.

Minister Corey Givens Jr. led the ‘Youth Building’ breakout session.

Rev. Clark Hazley Sr., pastor of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, graciously hosted attendees of the inaugural conference on Aug. 18 and 19.

This two-day event included guest preaching from Pastor Richard L. Wolfe, Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, on Friday night. On Saturday, conference attendees participated in breakout sessions with topics including:

  • The 21st Century Church, taught by Conference President Dr. G. Gregg Murray
  • Discipleship, led by Conference Vice President Pastor Lannis Thomas
  • Rebuilding Through Sunday School, taught by Pastor Clark Hazely Sr.
  • Evangelism, taught by Conference Chairman Pastor Bobby Reid
  • Youth Building, led by Minister Corey Givens Jr.

Conference President Dr. G. Gregg Murray taught the ‘21st Century Church’ breakout session.

“The Kingdom Living Conference 2023 is designed to offer something for the entire family and the entire individual,” said Dr. Murray. “We want attendees to be inspired but also to gain practical skills applicable to everyday life. And we strive to make the conference accessible to everyone.”

Designed to help Christians think biblically, missionally, and strategically about the Word of God, the breakout sessions encouraged attendees to develop habits of faithful stewardship.

“The pandemic really affected attendance at many of our churches. Some even closed their doors. Satan used that opportunity to weaken the nations, just like he did in Isaiah 12:12,” Conference Chairman Pastor Reid emphasized during his breakout session. “The Baptist Ministers Conference is focused on strengthening that which remains.”

The Baptist Ministers Conference of St. Petersburg, FL, and Vicinity meets on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church (unless otherwise noted) at 3700 22nd Ave S, St. Petersburg. All Baptist pastors and ministers are welcome to attend.
