Free Bikes 4 Kidz Tampa Bay

FB4K Tampa Bay is hosting a donation event in collaboration with St. Petersburg Parks & Recreations on Oct. 28 from 10-3 p.m.

ST. PETERSBURG — Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a non-profit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. Executive Director Randy Hallier said that more than 100 bikes were refurbished and given away with helmets to kids in need last year.

The program was so successful that FB4K Tampa Bay is hosting another donation event in collaboration with St. Petersburg Parks & Recreations on Oct. 28 from 10-3 p.m. If you have a functional, gently used, non-electric pedal bike, please bring it to J.W. Cates, 5801 22nd Ave N, or Lake Vista Recreation Centers, 1401 62nd Ave S.

Adult or kids’ bikes, even tricycles, are welcome.

The bikes will be given away to families on the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreations need list in November.

You can get involved by donating a bike at the events, contributing financially or volunteering to help kids “go places.” Donating $25 in addition to a bike will virtually cover the cost for the organization to get the bikes back in “good as new” condition for a lucky kid.

FB4K is a registered non-profit, so a financial donation is tax deductible. For more information, contact randy@fb4ktampabay.queenbeesite.com or visit fb4ktampabay.org/.
