ST. PETERSBURG — The Gibbs High School Class of ‘57 celebrated their 57th reunion July 24 and 27 by attending a dinner theater show and church.
On July 24, members of the class traveled to the dinner theater in Hudson to see “Forever Plaid,” an off Broadway musical revue. The show brought back many memories because the songs were popular during the 1950s.
A few of the songs they sang during the course of the musical included, “Three Coins in a Fountain,” “Lady of Spain” and “Love is a Many Splendored Thing.” The harmony was outstanding.
On July 27, the class worshipped at Bethel Community Church. Afterwards, a delicious meal at Sylvia’s was enjoyed by all.
Throughout the year the class will worship at different member’s church every fourth Sunday.
This class meets each second Saturday from September to May at Rev. Alvin Miller’s place on 5th Avenue South. The meetings are held at 4 p.m.
All graduates of the Gibbs class of 1957 are encouraged to participate. Carolyn Green Hobbs is class president and Yvonne Clemons Clayton served as reunion chair.
