Go ahead laugh all you want

BY PASTOR KISHA JORDAN

Praise the Lord for truly the Lord is worthy to be praised. When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that He has done for me, my soul cries out thank you Jesus. What a great and powerful God we serve.

I greet you all in the name of Jesus Christ. I was sitting down in my office this morning, thinking about things that make people laugh from time to time. Have you ever heard something that was so funny or heard someone tell a joke or two and you just could not stop laughing? Well, in the book of Genesis we are told, one day Sarah was listening or should I say “eavesdropping” or should I say just being nosy, [lol] when she heard something that made her laugh.

Sarah was well past the age of child bearing, “so she thought”. She was convinced that her baby making days had past her by. Like Sarah, have you ever thought that you were too old for something? Too old to go back to school, too old to dream again, too old to dance again, too old to write again, too old to work again, too old to paint again, or too old to preach again or teach again.

Similarly, have you ever heard God tell you something and it just seem so impossible that you chuckle to yourself. Well you can sit there and lie all you want. But I have experienced moments like Sarah, when God spoke something into my life that seemed preposterous. I heard the Lord say this what’s going to happen, or that was going to happen or something else was going to happen, and He said it at a time when the facts suggested otherwise and faith seemed foolish.

It seemed like everything was going backwards instead of forward. It seemed like everything was fallen apart instead of coming together. Yet, I distinctly heard God say it was going to happen. I was like “Wow”. Yet, the truth of the matter is, God often speaks in those moments when we aren’t really feeling it, believing it, or even prepared for it.

God speaks when our faith is at an all-time low. He speaks victory into our lives when everyone else is telling us we are defeated or they are hell-bent on tearing us down. He speaks truth into our lives when the devil is send his destructive lies our way. God speaks you can make it when we are just about ready to throw in the towel. Good God Almighty. Dear reader let me tell you, “God really speaks”. Thank you JESUS. What a might God we serve!

I believe by way of this article that God is speaking to you right now. His message to you is you are never too old. As long as you’ve got breath in your body, as long as your blood is running warm in your veins, you are never too old. Our great and powerful God can do anything but fail. He can do the impossible and He will do it in a way that will make you laugh, trust me. He will do it!

I’m tell you what I know and not what I heard or read in somebody’s book. God has made me laugh so many times and I can honestly say, every time it blew my mind. As many of you know, on Christmas day of 1989, my husband Dr. Jerome, my oldest daughter Kendra and I were involved in a horrific car accident. A 13 years old boy had stolen a car and was being chased by the police at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour on 34th street south in St. Petersburg, Florida. When the car slammed into our car witnesses said it sounded like something had exploded. Everyone at the scene, the police, paramedics, and others said no one in our car should have survived.

I was rushed to the hospital. While in the hospital fighting for my life and in a coma for weeks on life support, doctors were giving my family nothing but bad news. The facts suggesting I had less than 24 hours to live, that it was time to start planning my funeral, but faith said God was preparing to do the impossible. While laying almost lifelessly in the intensive care unit surrounded by machines, my body swollen beyond recognition, God was about to make us laugh again. He had already done some amazing things and was preparing to do so much more.

My oldest daughter, who was only two years old at the time of the accident, had been trapped in the car covered in glass. But to God be the glory, she did not have a single scratch on her body. God is good. My husband was pushed out of the driver seat into that busy street and not one hit him. Yes God is good. I had been knocked me into the driver seat and I was surrounded by twisted metal. The paramedics had to use the “jaws of life” to get me out of the vehicle. But, to God be the glory I was still alive.

In route to the hospital, my heart stopped twice, but God brought me back. Yes God is good. I spent months in the hospital and my family was told, even if I survived all of this, I would never want to be around people. I was even told I couldn’t ever have any more kids. But, God gave me two more babies after that. I was told I would never walk again, never talk again, never stand again, and never do anything again. But look at me now, God has raised me up, to preach His message around the world. Again I say, yes God is good.

He has blessed me with two television shows that are viewable on cable television, ROKU, and over the internet. He has blessed me to author the book “I Am The Lord That Healeth Thee” available in your local book store and dear reader be on the lookout for my new book “Get Delivered From The Saints” scheduled to be released this year. He has blessed me to pastor with the greatest man in the world, my husband Dr. Jerome Jordan, who just released his new book “Unstoppable”. The book highlights his testimony with the accident and how God empowers us to conquer the storms of life. Together we have been pastoring for more than 23 years, both in Hawaii and now in the city of Largo.

So yes go ahead and laugh. God has made me laugh so many times and has proved Himself mightily in my life. He has made me to laugh just as he made Sarah laugh when said she was going to have a baby at her age. She cracked up, but look at what happened. She had a baby boy just like God said she would. If he did it for Sarah and He is continuing to do it in my life, then I know he will make you laugh too. So, keep your head up and keep trusting God.

Stay focused. I pray that you were encouraged by this message from the Pastor’s Corner.
