I AM Love

BY REV. DORAL PULLEY

Scripture – “He that does not love does not know God for God is love (I John 4:8).”

Denial – “Hatred, envy, malice, strife, bitterness and unforgiveness are not a part of my life.”

Affirmation – “I AM the love of God.”

The word, universe, means one word (uni=one, verse=word). According to the teachings of Jesus and his disciples all of the scriptures in the Torah from the law to the prophets can be fulfilled in one word, love (Galatians 5:14).

Jesus emphasized how easy it is to love those who are showing us love. It is natural to love those who love us. It is spiritual to love those who do not demonstrate love toward us. God allows the sun to shine and the rain to fall on the just as well as the unjust. Jesus used God, the I AM that I AM, as an example to show us I AMs how to love. The I AM empowers us to love those who hate us, to bless those who curse us, to do good to those who do evil things to us and to pray for those who despitefully use us (Matthew 5:43-45). I AM love; therefore, I AM loving even to those who appear to be unlovable.

I AM love; therefore, I AM loveable. I AM worthy of love and respect. I denounce any thought or idea that suggests that I do not deserve unconditional love. No decision or action of my past disqualifies me from giving and receiving the love that I AM.

Reflection Question – Who are the people in your life that are physical reminders of God’s unconditional love?
