I AM Intelligent

BY REV. DORAL PULLEY

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5

Denial- There is nothing wrong with having questions.  God is not bothered by my questions.

Affirmation – I AM is the answer to all my questions.

Your intellect is the aspect of your soul that processes information. The processing of information is often called learning. Like every other human being, there is a way that you learn. The question is never whether you can learn, you can. The question is how do you learn? You may be a visual learner (seeing), an auditory learner (hearing), tactile-kinetic learner (touching/doing) or a unique combination of all three.

One of the ways that Jesus Christ, the Wayshower, processed information was through questioning.  At his baptism, the voice said, “You are my beloved Son…” In the wilderness, Jesus questioned his sonship with the word, if. The devil in the text that said “If you be the son of God command these stones to be made bread” was not something or someone outside of Jesus. It was the intellectual part of Jesus’ soul questioning what he heard publicly at the River of Jordan (Matthew 4:1-11).

Jesus as Wayshower illustrated that processing is not limited to the processing of information (data, facts, formulas); the intellect also processes your experiences. You have a unique way of processing your experiences. You may process internally, or you may process out loud by talking to God, yourself, or others. The key is to give yourself the time and space that you need to process your experiences. You are the lord of your intellect.

Reflection Question – What kind of learner are you?  What kind of processor are you?
