Smooth Breeze Music Festival three-day weekend

TAMPA BAY — The Smooth Breeze Music Festival Weekend will kick off Friday, April 6 with Too Smooth’s 21st Annual Birthday Bash featuring hip-hop legend Chubb Rock at Bounce Boy Event Center, 5008 E 10th Ave, Tampa.

On Saturday, April 7 comedian J. Anthony Brown from “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” is coming to town to clown! He’ll be joined by comedians Freddie Ricks from the movie “Shaft,” Marcus Combs of “Def Comedy Jam” and St. Pete’s own Batman at the Palladium Theater, 253 5th Ave N.

Brown, known for his catchphrase “watch out de now,” is a comedian and veteran radio show host celebrity that excites his fans through. He brings his comedic stylings and hilarious cast of on-air characters to the top-rated, award-winning radio program “The Steve Harvey Morning Show.”

Brown started his career in Atlanta after relocating from South Carolina. He currently resides in Los Angeles and is a tailor by trade, which he aspired to be a clothing designer before putting together a comedy routine for comedy clubs in his hometown.

While in Atlanta, he entered a local gong show contest in a nightclub where he was invited back to host on a regular basis and became a permanent part of the entertainment. As a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., owner of the J. Anthony Brown Collection Store and The J Spot Comedy Club in Los Angeles, Brown provides his sidesplitting clowning and quick, unmatchable wit, whether murdering the hits with an off-key version of the latest songs or saying an outrageous joke to conjure up a laugh.

The last day of the three-day weekend, Sunday, April 8, will feature Southern Soul Balladeers, Sir Charles Jones, Calvin Richardson and Wendell B at the third annual Smooth Breeze Music Festival held at Water Works Park, 1710 N Highland Ave., Tampa.
