Position Summary:

This class is the first of four levels in the Security series.  Incumbents patrol and inspect the campus and provide safety and security related services to all students, staff, faculty and visitors as necessary.  Responsibilities may include patrolling campus; responding to calls for assistance; locking and unlocking facilities; assisting citizens with battery jumps, lock-outs, escorts and other services as needed; monitoring security cameras; providing crowd control for events; directing traffic; issuing traffic citations; and maintaining records of all activities and issues.  Incumbents may be assigned to monitor a specific facility, such as a parking garage or to a dispatch function.

Position Summary:

This class is the first of four levels in the Facilities series.  Incumbents perform semi-skilled labor in plumbing, painting, roofing, electrical, carpentry, masonry and/or framing on the Maintenance or Construction functions by assisting or taking direction from more experienced staff.  Positions in both areas perform semi-skilled labor, track materials, and work with customers on timing of projects, or similar defined project details, such as setting up and taking down event sets; and assisting on maintenance or construction projects as directed.

Maintenance – Incumbents are responsible for maintaining assigned campus facilities.  Responsibilities may include patching and painting interior and exterior surfaces; maintaining and repairing small-scale plumbing, electrical fixtures, drywall, windows, and doors; and maintaining records of time and materials used on projects.

Construction – Incumbents are responsible for performing assigned construction projects to build or repair College facilities.  Responsibilities may include performing various skilled trades on construction sites; maintaining, and repairing plumbing, electrical fixtures, drywall, windows, and doors; and maintaining records of time and materials used on projects.

Incumbents prepare, receive, verify, tag, and process various packages and mail materials.   Responsibilities may include verifying shipments for proper documentation; tracking requisitions; inspecting, categorizing, verifying, certifying and processing College mail; operating postal equipment; processing parcels to be shipped; assembling and installing equipment; confirming property tag numbers and location are correct; updating and correcting inventory records; locating missing assets; providing courier services; and preparing records and reports related to inventory control.
