The Bible made this one as plain as the nose on your face, Part 2

Praise the Lord,

Continuing from last time, we have even more conclusive scriptures that help you to become more informed as to whether or not scriptures mandate you having to be baptized in Jesus’ name and not just willy-nilly however you want, in the titles father-son and the holy ghost and that this was done by two of the most important apostles of the Bible, Peter, and Paul.

It’s comical how today’s men of God believe they can alter the scriptures or write their own to usurp God’s most holy and divine word.  And to compound this mess, they can’t seem to figure out why their prayers have little to no power.  It’s obvious that you are in defiance of God’s word, and your prayers are falling on deaf ears but far be it for me to say such a thing even when the evidence clearly, diametrically screams this.

Let’s look at what should be the foundational scripture for every church professing to be “God’s church,” but we know that is not the case.

In the Book of Acts it’s called Acts of the Apostles, who are the apostles; they were once the disciples of Jesus Christ until Jesus commanded that they go to Jerusalem until they get endued with “POWER,” and this power was the Holy Spirit, His Spirit that would lead and guide you into all truth.

Luke 24: 44 Then He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, everything which has been written about Me in the Law of Moses and the [writings of the] Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then He opened their minds to [help them] understand the Scriptures, 46 and said, “And so it is written, that the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and that repentance [necessary] for forgiveness of sins would be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 Listen carefully: I am sending the Promise of My Father [the Holy Spirit] upon you; but you are to remain in the city [of Jerusalem] until you are clothed (fully equipped) with power from on high.”

Whoa!  Did you just catch that? Look at v.44 again.  He said that Moses, the prophets, and the Psalms wrote about Him! But wait, Jesus didn’t come on the scene until the Book of Matthews, right? NOT!  I will go down that rabbit hole at a later time.

Remember that this is their first encounter with Jesus after He rose from the grave. The significance of this is v.47 where He says that repentance is NECESSARY in order to be forgiven of your sins and that repentance MUST be preached in HIS NAME.  I know most of yall were taught that you are automatically forgiven of your sins when Jesus died on the cross but come on, even in your deepest heart of hearts, do you believe mass murders, rapists, pedophiles, etc., are automatically forgiven of their sins without remorse or repenting? Do you really believe that? Of course, you don’t.

Stop letting the most common-sense things baffle you and take up precious time and energy when some things are just too obvious.

Now check this out, Jesus tells them to go to Jerusalem and to remain there until they receive “POWER” from on high, right? Ok.

Acts 1: 6 So when they had come together, they asked Him repeatedly, “Lord, are You at this time reestablishing the kingdom and restoring it to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority. 8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”

Look at v.8, now they know what this “POWER” is, the Holy Spirit, His Spirit that He, Jesus Christ, will give to them according to their obedience.

Please be patient as I’m building a foundation and reference points as to the significance of baptism and if it is, in fact, no big deal how it’s done and if it’s actually needed for salvation.

Till next week,

Blessings Bishop Dr. Robert L. Harrison, Jr.
