St. Petersburg, FL — The Woodson African American Museum of Florida hosted its annual Holiday Open House and Christmas Tree Trimming Competition, culminating a highly successful 2025 Toy Drive filled with joy, jubilation, and community spirit.
More than 300 guests toured the museum galleries, voted for their favorite holiday trees, and donated toys and gifts to support more than 200 families and over 700 children across the region.
A highlight of the celebration was the Christmas Tree Trimming Competition, which featured 13 thoughtfully designed entries showcasing exceptional creativity, elegance, artistry, and historical storytelling. Selecting winners across five categories proved to be a challenge due to the outstanding quality of submissions. The top vote-getters were:
· Best in Show: St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
· Most Creative: Delta Omicron Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
· Most Historical: Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
· Most Whimsical: RacewithoutIsm
· Most Classic: Sisters of Love Chapter No. 129, Order of the Eastern Star, P.H.A.
