A divided house cannot stand

Dear Editor:

There is a very volatile climate in America right now. There is even more indication of two Americas than ever before. The racist people that want a race war are rising. The KKK and other white supremacy groups are still in session with evil plans to destroy us from within. They are in government, teaching in our schools, patrolling our streets as law enforcement.

Last week, the scene at our nation’s capital was a shameful and dangerous failed treasonous coup to dwarf democracy. The now twice impeached so-called President of the United States Donald Trump, a criminal traitor and conman, incited violence and a terroristic takeover of our government.

Believing his election fraud lies, thousands of domestic terrorists stormed our Capitol building and paraded themselves around carrying Confederate flags while several so-called lawmakers signed off on the sedition.

How did this happen at the U.S. capital? Where were the en masse arrests and violent response from law enforcement we know all too well directed at black protesters? Make no mistake, this is an evil exposure of a double standard in America where some are tolerated, and some are brutalized.

But I see a third America emerging from the fiery flames. I see an army of the righteous, following the love of Jesus, and armed with love and empathetic understanding.

Their weapons are not carnal but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds. I see a diverse army marching arm in arm down the path of righteousness, protecting one another with prayer and ministry and knowing by faith that what Satan meant for evil, God is turning it around for good. He is raising us up to combat hate and injustice together. Win we must, and win we will because we have already won. God be with us.

Therefore, I unequivocally denounce the attempted coup, insurrection, and treasonous attack on our nation’s capital and our democracy on Jan. 6, 2021. I fully blame Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and all other elected officials and persons who played a role in last week’s sedition. Those persons should be persecuted to the full extent of the Law.

Last Wednesday’s insurrectionary storming of the U.S. Capitol building was an attack on multiracial inclusive democracy, not on white supremacy and white privilege form of democracy itself. They want to start a race war over white supremacy and white privilege. It’s going to get worse. When you sell your soul, there will always be a debt to settle.

Some folks are finally seeing what Black folks have been claiming for more than a century now throughout this nation. There are two Americas and fatal double standards.

White privilege is real. White supremacy ideology is rising. Racism is very much alive. Racially motivated killings and lynchings continue. If you remain silent now, you’re part of the problem.

In this country, if you’re a Black kid playing in a park with a toy gun, you’ll get shot and killed, and your murderer will get off scot-free. If you’re a Black athlete who kneels during the national anthem, you’ll be harassed, continuously threatened and thrown out of your job.

If you’re a peaceful Black woman protesting the murder of one of your Black neighbors, you’ll be teargassed, shot with rubber bullets, beaten with clubs, tied up and arrested.

But, if you’re a white man, you can storm the Capitol building as part of an armed insurrection, vandalize and loot, then walk home, grab a beer and watch yourself on Fox News. That’s how all this works in today’s America. All righteous people must unite to fight this present darkness.

If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand (Mark 3:25).

Division against yourself can destroy you from within, and neither party wins. Divisiveness can be caused by manipulative outside forces that seek to divide and conquer for their own benefit and advantage.

You need to always be careful about who you listen to and what you believe. That person you have been taught to hate and despise may not be your enemy at all. We need each other to survive. We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters or perish together as fools.

LET US PRAY…We thank you, Lord, for another day of life. God, we come against any evil forces that would seek to divide us. I am my brother’s keeper, and we are all your children. Teach us to value our diversity and differences. Teach us how to love one another and live peaceably together. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
