AKA Sorority members fan out for Alzheimer’s awareness

ST. PETERSBURG — On Wednesday, June 21, members of the Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® spent The Longest Day® volunteering at two local nursing home centers to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease prevention.

Aligned with the sorority’s national program thrust of Launching New Dimensions of Service, sorority members from across the globe joined the effort to make a collective impact in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.

Throughout the day, members devoted countless hours serving the residents at Baywood Nursing and Addington Place at College. Both facilities serve a diverse Alzheimer population.  During the day of service, members sung songs, played games and spent time conversing with the patients.
