Tameka Harris is the owner of Always Truth Incorporated, which is dedicated to teaching, reaching, and uplifting to help inspire people using motivational speaking, poetry, educational rap and books.
After being voted Teacher of the Year in 2006, Harris made an unexpected move – she resigned.
“I decided to walk by faith and not by sight, which led me to resign from my teaching position and start my company, Always Truth Incorporated,” she said.
Soon after, Harris’ former principal hired her as a vendor to train students for an oration contest. Later that year, businesses started picking up.
She was invited to motivate youth and adults at several schools and organizations and even had the opportunity to rehabilitate one of her former students after he awoke from a coma by helping him relearn the alphabet and sight words.
After word got out, Harris began receiving several requests to help students, so she added tutoring to her list of services.
Harris has published an educational rap CD, “I Am An Excellent Writer,” and a poetry CD entitled “Don’t Settle.” Her latest book, “Inspiration from A to Z,” is a colorful character education book for children.
“I am excited to continue producing tools to teach and motivate students of all ages,” she said.
