PINELLAS COUNTY — Mentors change the lives of thousands of Pinellas County students each week. Pinellas County Schools offers a variety of ways for caring adults to have a positive impact as mentors for students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Pinellas County Schools are proud of the almost 2,500 mentors supporting approximately 3,500 students. Research has shown that mentoring helps students improve their grades, attendance, behavior, social interactions with adults and outlook on school.
New mentors receive a one-hour mentor training/orientation and support throughout the year. Pinellas County Schools offers both one-on-one and group mentoring programs for students. One-on-one mentoring sessions are designed to meet at least once every other week for 30 minutes and group mentoring programs meet at least once a month.
Mentoring is an excellent way for individuals, businesses and community organizations to be impactful and transformative for students and schools who need support and additional caring adults. Please check out the wonderful mentoring opportunities Pinellas County Schools offer below.
