Scripture – “I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty (Revelation 1:8).”
Denial – “I do not stop in the middle of things.”
Affirmation – “I finish what I start.”
Alpha and Omega are Greek words for the beginning and the ending. Jesus, the Christ, decreed, “I AM Alpha and Omega.” I AM is the alpha or beginning of anything good. In my experience, when I begin my day with silence and stillness, the day is always more positive and more productive. The Alpha is the Omega. How things begin is usually how they end.
When we begin with an awareness of the I AM of our being, we are always off to a good start. When we begin putting God first, we can’t go wrong. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding in all of your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).” When our motive is the highest good for all parties concerned, all of the necessary resources come into alignment with that intention. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).”
Instead of trying to fix things that did not begin properly, let’s focus on starting things right so that they will end up right. It is always easier to do it right from the beginning then it is to correct something that was faulty from the start. Not only does I AM empower us to start things properly, but I AM empowers us to finish what we start. I AM is the stick-to-itiveness to finish what we being. I AM is the perseverance to complete what we start. Through the power of the I AM, we can say like Jesus said to every task, “It is finished (John 19:30).”
Reflection Question – Are there any projects that you have started that you have not finished? If so, what are they and what is your plan to finish them.
