Scripture – “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM (John 8:58).”
Denial – “The I AM is not limited by time.”
Affirmation – “I AM ageless and timeless.”
Jesus, the Christ, knew who he was. He was totally in touch with the I AM of his being. As we follow Jesus’ example, we become more clear about who we truly are, I AM. I AM is ageless. I AM has no birth date and no death date. It never ages or grows old. I AM is timeless. I AM does not operate in time. I AM is eternity, infinity and beyond.
Jesus referenced Abraham in his discussions with the scribes and Pharisees. They questioned how he knew Abraham when he was less than fifty years old and Abraham died hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus. Jesus baffled them when he referred to his spiritual nature, the I AM which existed before Abraham. They were so upset by his words that they attempted to stone him.
Jesus, our Wayshower, knew that his true identity was I AM and was not afraid to speak it to others regardless of the consequences. As we walk in his footsteps, we are bold enough to claim our I AM identity as well.
Reflection Question – How can we operate in time and be timeless?
