I preached a message as the newly installed Local Pastor of my church, The Apostolic Open Door Church of God and true Holiness, located at 2800 41st Ave North on a very basic recipe for obtaining and maintaining the favor and blessings of God:
Psalm 37 King James Version (KJV)
37 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. 13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. 14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. 15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. 16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
This lines up with; “I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land. And I’m happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”
Sound familiar? Yeah, I bet it does. Know why it sounds similar? Because the one who said the latter got ALL of his saying and beliefs from the one who inspired the first.
One thing this Preacher/Pastor will NEVER do is have someone who either doesn’t live the life I have lived according to the Word of God or believe the Word of God attempt to tell, convince, or persuade me that MY GOD ain’t who He says He is.
You don’t have to believe like I believe BUT, I have evidence, facts, results that say that there must be something to that Holiness, Apostolic way of living.
I’ve never really had a lot of money or “things” but somehow we managed to raise 6 kids in this city, four who proudly serve their country in the U.S. Military, one carrying a very good gpa a PWI, Predominately White Institution, and oh by the way, the wifey and I inching closer and closer to our Silver Wedding Anniversary. (24 years in August)
We owe it all to and give ALL THE PRAISE, GLORY, AND HONOR TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!
Your thoughts, feelings, ideas, philosophies, ideologies, Dr. Philology, Oprahology or whatever you choose to feel have some significance in the life of a saint of God that is a TRUE believer, have no merit and will NEVER have me to compromise, water down, or down play what the Bible says.
Attack the messengers, Great Men of God, used to give us the inspired Word of God, try to establish a contradiction, whatever you choose; My Holy Ghost Spirit will shoot it down every time.
In closing I will just let the Word of God speak to the “stuff” going on with regards to the upcoming events in this city.
All you have to do is let the Word speak for you. You don’t need to defend the Word of God, it can stand alone all by Itself.
Leviticus 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”
Leviticus 20:13, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their blood guiltness is upon them.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
Romans 1:26-28, “For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.”
