ST. PETERSBURG — Dynamic duo Janaye Hardy and Lola B. Morgan will host their second annual We Are The Dream: MLK Expo 2022 on Jan. 15 at Gibbs High School, 850 34th St. S.

In partnership with Gibbs High School, small businesses will be highlighted during the MLK event, along with:

  • Food
  • Speakers
  • Shop with Local Vendors
  • Live Entertainment by recording artist J’Nelle Richardson
  • Music by DJ Don Roc
  • Kid’s Corner
  • Raffles
  • Cultured Books second annual #DreamPower2022 Initiative drop-off

This year’s giveback-to-the-community will be unique as Hardy and Morgan host a Grant Award Ceremony for 12 local business owners by granting them funds/services towards their business needs. The community is asked to vote for who they feel has shown exemplary servitude and benefits to its surrounding communities.

For those who are participating in Cultured Books’ second annual #DreamPower2022 Initiative, a letter-writing campaign that empowers the community to share their hopes and dreams for St. Petersburg’s future through letter writing, you can drop off your letter at the expo. Once the letters are collected, they will be presented to Mayor Ken Welch.

The MLK Expo’s mission is to educate, empower, and support residents, inspiring those around them to advocate to achieve the same in their backyard.
